Shan Currie

Front Desk Coordinator
SHAN CURRIE – Hiii, my name is Shan. I’m originally from Central Mississippi. I now consider myself a Magnolia Peach. I have an 11-year old son. I’ve lived in GA since 2012. I originally moved here to seek a career as a professional make-up artist. I attended Gwynnis Mosby’s make-up Academy and was certified on November 22, 2015.
My love of hair came with my love of makeup. They normally are hand in hand, and for me, it was spot on. I discovered with the more faces I touched, the more I loved what I was doing. I love seeing the overall transformation and reaction of the client. I began practicing a little on friends, however, once I realized this is my dream; I wanted to be professionally trained.
I started looking for affordable cosmetology schools that were accommodating to my work schedule and life. I was unable to attend via the traditional way, so I gave it to God. He brought it back to me in the form of an internship program.
My inspiration: I was bullied in school from 1st to 10th grade. It was hard for me to make friends. So I focused on what I could control myself and my appearance. I began keeping my hair and makeup and clothing to a certain standard that I live by still today.
I am now the proud student of KBB Academy. I will be a licensed cosmetologist by March of 2021. I can’t wait to help you define your beauty.
